1 | Reversible Function Loss | No damage or hazard, reversible loss of function. |
2 | Damage | No hazard. Irreversible loss of function. Replacement or repair needed. |
3 | Minor Leakage | Evidence of cell leakage or venting with weight loss < 50% of electrolyte weight. |
4 | Major Leakage | Evidence of cell leakage or venting with weight loss > 50% of electrolyte weight. |
5 | Rupture | Loss of mechanical integrity of the container, resulting in release of contents. |
6 | Fire | Ignition combustion of flammable gas or liquid for more than one second. |
7 | Explosion | Very fast release of energy sufficient that may cause considerable structural bodily damage. |
